Kenneth Walker III Sets NFL Record: 665 Yards in First 5 Games With a Team

By , ChiefsLand ·

Chiefs Kingdom, Kenneth Walker III just put his name in the record book.

Walker has 665 rushing yards this season, the most in NFL history in a player's first five games with a team, via ESPN. He added 128 of them on 19 carries in today's 22-6 win over the Chargers, scoring both Kansas City touchdowns as the Chiefs moved to 5-0.

ESPN credits yards after contact: Walker has 369 rushing yards after contact this season. And per PFF's leaderboard, his 665 yards lead the NFL, ahead of Bijan Robinson (641), James Cook (627) and Derrick Henry (534), with Walker having played only five games.

Our Take: The Chiefs went looking for a back who could finish runs, and Walker is doing it better than anyone has ever started with a new team. With an offense this balanced, 5-0 doesn't look like a fluke.
