Omarr Norman-Lott's Practice Window Opens a Year After His ACL Tear

By , ChiefsLand ·

The Chiefs opened the door for Omarr Norman-Lott on Wednesday. Kansas City designated its 2025 second-round defensive tackle to return to practice from the physically unable to perform (PUP) list, as first reported by Sam McDowell of the Kansas City Star (via Sports Illustrated's Chiefs On SI and Arrowhead Pride).

How he got here

Norman-Lott, the 63rd overall pick out of Tennessee, tore his ACL in Week 7 of his rookie season against the Las Vegas Raiders. He had played 73 snaps to that point, with five tackles and a sack (via Chiefs On SI). The team kept him on PUP through training camp to give the knee more time, and Andy Reid said two weeks ago that he was "getting closer" while working with the trainers (via Chiefs On SI).

What the window means

The designation starts a 21-day practice window. Any time in that stretch, Kansas City can move him to the 53-man roster. If he isn't activated before it closes, he stays out for the rest of the season (via Arrowhead Pride and Chiefs On SI).

What's next

Watch the practice reports this week and next. A limited tag is the expected start; full participation would be the real sign that a regular-season debut is close.

Our Take: This is the quiet kind of good news that matters in November. Kansas City's defensive front could use fresh legs, and a second-round interior rusher coming back healthy is basically a midseason addition. The Chiefs have no reason to rush him after a year away, so expect them to use most of the window. If the knee holds up, he's a real piece for the stretch run.
