Mahomes Ties Brady: 100 Wins in 131 Starts

By , ChiefsLand ·

Chiefs Kingdom, put this one in the books.

Patrick Mahomes earned his 100th career regular-season win in today's 22-6 victory over the Chargers, and he did it in his 131st start. That ties Tom Brady for the fewest starts needed to reach 100 wins, per NFL Network, ESPN Insights and FOX Sports. The Washington Post's Mark Maske noted the same mark.

"It's always an honor to be in any conversation ... with him," Mahomes said of Brady, per NFL Network.

Andy Reid kept it simple, per KSHB's Mark Poulose: "We're lucky to have him, right? We all know that. We're lucky to have him. He does a heck of a job playing. 100 wins. He's going to have a lot more than that down the road."

Our Take: Matching Brady's pace is the kind of number that frames a whole career, and Mahomes got there in a win that kept Kansas City unbeaten. Reid is right: 100 looks like a waypoint, not a finish line.
