Chiefs at Broncos Preview: Kansas City Visits Denver for AFC West Lead (3:25 PM CT, CBS)

By , ChiefsLand ·

The Kansas City Chiefs (5-1) visit the Denver Broncos (5-2) today at Empower Field at Mile High. Kickoff is 3:25 PM CT on CBS. ESPN's line has Kansas City favored by 1.5, with a total of 41.5.

Our Take: This is the game that sets the AFC West race. Patrick Mahomes has 1,474 yards and 9 touchdowns, and Kenneth Walker III has given this offense real balance with 701 yards and 6 scores. Denver is tough at home, and the secondary is thin with Delane listed out and Sneed on IR. Chiefs lean on Walker and leave Mile High in first place.

WHO'S OUT: Kansas City: Norman-Lott is out, and Delane (shoulder) is listed out on ESPN after being questionable on Friday's report. Sneed, Brashard Smith and Josh Simmons are on IR, and R. Mason Thomas is questionable (personal). Denver: Harvey is on IR and Hufanga is out. Waddle (chest), Zach Allen (hamstring), Brandon Jones and Garett Bolles (hip) are questionable.

KEYS TO THE GAME:
- Run with Walker. A 41.5 total says this is a grind. Walker sets the tone.
- Kelce in the middle. Travis Kelce has 24 catches for 343 yards. He is Mahomes' safety valve against the Denver rush.
- Protect Mahomes. Zach Allen has 4.5 sacks. If he plays through the hamstring, Kansas City has to slide help his way.
- Make Bo Nix beat you. Nick Bolton (59 tackles) and the front have to stop J.K. Dobbins and force third-and-long.

WHERE TO WATCH & LISTEN: TV on CBS at 3:25 PM CT. Radio on the Chiefs Radio Network. Follow along on ChiefsLand.com for live updates.
