Bieniemy on the Mahomes Sideline Moment: Survival, Not Drama

By , ChiefsLand ·

Kingdom fans saw the clip. Patrick Mahomes fired up. Eric Bieniemy listening. Andy Reid calling it frustration and competitiveness. Now the OC put it in plain English.

Our Take: This is what a 4-0 team looks like when it still knows it has work to do. The conversation wasn't a fracture — it was the relationship working the way Bieniemy wants it.

Per Arrowhead Pride's Ron Kopp Jr., Bieniemy told ESPN's Nate Taylor on Thursday that he does most of the complaining and has "no problems with guys venting their frustrations" because that is part of the relationship. "There is no issue of communication," he said. "We play in the arena; it's all about survival… I'd rather him come and vent his frustrations at me than to vent it in a different place where it's not going to be taken the right way." Bieniemy also said the offense is "still working on establishing our foundation" and short-yardage has been "just doing okay." Josh Simmons is back practicing this week.

What we want vs. the Chargers: short-yardage finishes and the same edge that clip showed. Chiefs Kingdom.
