100 Wins and Counting: Mahomes Ties Brady's Pace, and His Favorite Still Isn't a Big Game

By , ChiefsLand ·

Chiefs Kingdom, sit with this one for a second: 100 regular-season wins, and our quarterback is just getting started.

Our Take: Mahomes ties Brady's pace, and the number is great. The best part is that his favorite win still isn't a big game. It's a day he says he played badly, and that tells you who he is. A 5-0 start says the counting isn't close to done.

Per Heavy's Nick Roesch, Mahomes tied Tom Brady as the fastest quarterback to 100 wins, and he's 117-35 including the postseason. The Times of India notes he shared his favorite-win story this week with Kansas City at 5-0 and a trip to Seattle ahead.

Asked for his favorite regular-season win, Mahomes didn't pick a shootout. He picked the 31-21 win over the Chargers in Week 17 of 2019, when Miami beat New England at the same time to hand Kansas City a bye. "I didn't even play that good of a game," he said. "I remember being on the field, and it wasn't even about us and me winning the game, but hearing the fans and how excited they were getting."

Now comes Seattle on Sunday Night Football. Mahomes has played there once, the 38-31 loss in 2018. "I might have been too amped up early in the game," he said. "You got to be able to manage your emotions."

What to watch: How Mahomes handles that crowd early. If the first quarter is calm, win No. 101 is very much on the table.
